By day, I am an aircraft mechanic who is married with 3 dogs. My journey started with running Muckfest MS that raises money for MS research. It's a disease that is way too close to my family. Its a mud obstacle course race meant for all skill levels. I had been working out, but it was hard. Much harder than it should be. I decided to make a change. I started running even though I hated it. This lead to meeting some great friends that did this thing called triathlon. I would stand on the beach while they swam thinking they were crazy. Then we would go ride our bikes and run. This lead to my first duathlon in 2015. Over that winter, they offered some swimming lessons at a local university and I joined in. What do you know, I can swim without drowning!

Since then I have been all in. 2016 was my first super sprint and sprint races. 2017 was oly and my first 70.3. I will remember that day forever. I trained so hard and was so proud of how far I have come. 2018 will also be a much more challenging 70.3 year. This has been a fantastic journey. I feel like I have really found myself and a fantastic group of friends. This sport is amazing. We cheer for everyone. It's not about winning, it's about getting to the finish line. It's about setting your own goals.
