I grew up athletic training at a National level for gymnastics and springboard diving. But like most people, life got busy. I worked full time and went to university full time to get my nursing degree. Then it was straight into marriage and kids. I remember a day, sitting on the floor with my 2 pound kids finding it hard to get up off the ground and struggling to get up the stairs without breathing heavy. That day I dug through the front closet and found an old pair of runners. I went out for my first run in March of 2012. I ran for 30 seconds and felt like I was dying but I continued on walking and running until 20 minutes was up. I went home exhausted and sore. But I kept it up and that July I ran my first 10km race. The following year I ran a 15km and a half marathon and then eventually a marathon. Then a bad hamstring tear made me rethink my training. Because I couldn't run as much and as far, I started swimming and biking.

2015 marked my triathlon beginning with the 70.3 Victoria (go big or go home!). TriDot came in this year with the PSP and the change in my training is hard to put into words. I love the progress and can't wait to start race this season in St. George!!
