I am a 59 year old male recently retired Emergency Medicine Physician after a 35 year career. I have participated in triathlons off and on for the last 30 years after watching the epic Kona Ironman races in the early 1980’s. My career, family and love for playing other sports including including soccer and ice hockey often interrupted my plans for completing a full Ironman. Over the years I have raced in numerous olympic triathlons, 7 marathons (including Boston, Marine Corps, and Napa Valley) as well as 3 separate 70.3 races. Now that my children will be out of the house (all 3 boys will be in college this fall), I have resumed my triathlon training. I have retired in Florida and now can train all year round outside. My main focus to stay healthy and have fun! Completing a full Ironman would be a extra bonus and is still on the horizon!

If you set a goal for yourself and you are able to achieve it, you have won your race. Your goal can be to come in first, to improve your performance or just finish the race. It’s up to you- Dave Scott
