I was a competitive swimmer as a child. In my early 20s I started running and loved it. I ran my first marathon at age 31 and qualified for Boston - the problem was I didn’t know that was a big deal and didn’t go. I spent the next 5 years chasing that dream and missing by mere minutes. At 36 I developed Multiple Sclerosis but battled back 4 years later to run another very slow marathon that meant everything to me. This was followed by 10 years of very poor health and a 60 pound weight gain. The year I turned 50 I decided that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I started walking, then running (I could literally run 1/10 of a mile) but I kept at it and the next year I completed my first Ironman. I’ve since done 4 full Ironmans, several 70.3s, one marathon (where I again missed that coveted BQ by mere minutes) and several half-marathons and sprint triathlons.

I have spent the last two years battling back from broken ankles (I am the ultimate klutz) and am excited about using TriDot to help me get back in shape. I am living proof that anyone can achieve their dreams and I love convincing others to Tri.
