I grew up in the San Francisco bay area but moved away in 1996. In 2010, I wanted to be a little more active and started running for exercise. After a few months, I wanted to challenge myself and participate in a marathon. A friend suggested that I run the San Francisco marathon with him. I signed up and gave myself six months to train on my own. I traveled back to San Francisco to run the marathon. I was really nervous, but I knew that I would finish. After a few years of running, I wanted to do something different. I started to train for a triathlon even though I wasn’t a swimmer or owned a bike. I have finished two marathons, several half-marathons, twenty sprints, couple dozen Olympics, and two half Ironmans. The half Ironman in Kona, Hawaii, was the most exciting course---swimming with sea turtles in the ocean, climbing challenging hills, running through lava fields called “Hell’s Kitchen”, and finishing to the sound of Hawaiian beating drums and cheering crowd. The biggest challenge in my tri journey is training for the full Ironman in Texas. TriDot is helping me take my training to the next level, helping me train smarter and better. The program is designed personally for me so I can be strategic in the intensity and level of the training. If I can do the full Ironman, I know that I can accomplish anything!
Life is a marathon, not a sprint
