My triathlon journey started in 2018. I’ve been overweight most of my adult life and I never found the motivation to lose weight and keep it off. My 6-year-old son passed away in 2013 and the next 5 years of my family’s life was difficult and challenging. That’s when I decided I needed to make a change. My wife got into running and developed a passion for it. I started running, but I wanted something more. The last time I rode a bike or swam was when I was a kid. I made the decision to sign up for a triathlon and had over 6 months to train. My plan was to only do one race, but as the excitement built, I signed up for 3 sprints and an Olympic distance for the summer of 2018. I didn’t follow a strict training plan and I tried out different tools, which was enough to get me through the races.

After the 2018 race season was over, I read about TriDot and the PSP. I got accepted into the program and I signed up for a Half Ironman for 2019 to do with my wife. The thing I love about TriDot is how it holds me accountable for hitting my workout goals with TrainX and I’m consistently seeing improvements in my assessments. By day, I’m an IT professional and commute to work where I can be out of the house 12 hours per day. TriDot lets me adjust my workout schedule based on my busy work and family life.

I’m looking forward to reaching all of my goals in 2019 and beyond and completing my races in memory of my son Bryan.
