A few years ago I realized that sitting at a desk for eight hours a day was killing me. The story is a familiar one these days: loss of aerobic fitness, weight gain, stress, etc. I tried to get back to the gym but the monotonous repetition, lack of support, and lack of accountability resulted in little progress. Two friends of mine mentioned triathlon training and since I used to enjoy recreational swimming and biking, I decided to look into it. After slowly building my training for six months I was finally able to go from walking a mile to 5k walk/run intervals and signed up for a 5k run in March 2018. I finished and was ready for my next challenge a pool based mini-sprint triathlon in April. I finished and was hooked.

I signed up for a pool based Sprint in September. After finishing I knew I wanted to keep going and try for longer distances. I set goals working up to a half marathon in January 2019. Training for that was to be the core of my training for an Olympic distance triathlon scheduled for April 2019. During the course of my training, I came across the free TriDot Preseason Plan and gave it a shot. Varied workouts, monthly assessments, and an active Facebook group that is the most helpful and encouraging group around have kept me on track and focused! #TriDotWorks
