After playing around with some cycling and a few run, bike, canoe triathlons I stepped into my first traditional sprint in 2012 and was hooked. The training started with a lot of research as I took it on by myself. In 2013 I met a couple of other triathletes interested in doing a full distance. We decided on IM Florida 2015 after volunteering in 2014, training started when we returned home. Swimming, running and even cycling through the Georgia winter, volume, volume and more volume were the name of the game. My wife glared every time I told someone that I only trained 15-18 hours per week since that was actually just the time I logged on my watch, none of the travel and prep were included. As an Environmental and Safety Professional, husband and father of two, it wasn’t long before I realized triathlon and my life were not compatible. That was until I found TriDot in 2017. My training volume went down and my performance improved. TriDot helped me stay healthy while finding a balance between triathlon and life.
