Bio

I have completed over 100 triathlons; several full Ironman distance races as well as Half Ironman’s while regularly finishing as a medalist in my age group. I qualified at Austin 70.3 in 2015 for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Queensland, Australia in September of 2016. Despite an accident on my bike in the January 2016 which left me with a broken pelvis, I was determined to race in the World Championships. With the help of family, friends, Georgetown Triathletes, TriDot and Swim Master - Texas Masters Gold, I was back training and determined to race at the World Championships. Not my best performance due to the injury, the World Championship proved to be one of my best experiences in Triathlon; toeing the line with an amazing talented group of professionals and age group triathletes, the level of competition was high and the expectation in the air was even higher. Add to that the location, it was an amazing day. I am a Certified USAT Level 1 & Youth and Junior Coach and USMS Masters Level 3 Coach, USAT Certified Race Director and was inducted into the USAT Hall of Fame for 2016.

Background

I have been involved with sports since I first started running in 1993. After completing my first Half Marathon, the Royal Windsor Half Marathon, I decided to join my local running club in England, Burnham Joggers. I rapidly became an avid runner and active board member, holding several positions at once; Ladies Club Captain leading the team to their first cross country win, the High Wycombe Half Marathon Ladies Team first place and Race Director for a prestigious Half Marathon in Burnham Beeches, which received the Gold Award from BARR (the British Association of Road Racing) under my direction. This race is still a local favorite and continues to this day! As my passion for running and competing developed, I began to look for more challenging races, and discovered Adventure Racing and Triathlon. Taking part in my first adventure race, the Four Peaks in 1997, I was a member of the first ladies team to cross the finish line in under 10 hours and tenth team overall out of 50, in 2002 I was part of the three-person ladies team to cross the finish line first at the Tough Guy, one of the original adventure races in England which takes place in January, in Wolverhampton, and one of the coldest, wettest races I have done. My first Triathlon was the Royal Windsor Triathlon which I completed in a borrowed Tri Suit, Wetsuit, and an old Raleigh bike. From there I got the Triathlon bug and the rest is history.

Philosophy

My coaching philosophy is about helping athletes set meaningful goals and identifying steps to help them achieve them while balancing family, lifestyle and commitments. We can all be successful if we develop purpose and consistency in our training.
