I serve as the Fitness Director at Alamance Country Club in Burlington, NC where I work with clients of all abilities ranging from youth to seniors, sport specific to activities of daily living, and weekend warriors to high-school has beens. I have experience working with clients of all ages and fitness levels. My specialties include preventive exercise, general health and wellness, sports conditioning and post-injury rehabilitation. My true passion is in endurance sport. I am an accomplished triathlete and runner. I have been recognized by USAT as an All American every year since 2014. I have qualified for and completed the Boston Marathon annually since 2016.
I completed my undergraduate studies at Elon University in 1999 where I graduated cum laude with a B.S. in sports medicine. My graduate degree was earned in 2004 from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, with a M.S. in exercise physiology. I possess nine different fitness certifications from nationally accredited organizations. I am a Level 1 USA Triathlon certified coach, a Level 3 USA Cycling Coach, a certified Exercise Physiologist and Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist througth the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), as well as a certified Personal Training and certified Medical Exercise Specialist through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). In addition, I am a professional member of the ACSM, NSCA and IDEA Health and Fitness Association.
The foundation of every successful training program is the athlete. The best coach is an experienced guide who begins with the hopes, dreams, and desires of the athlete in mind and then tailors a training plan based on the athlete’s current fitness, race schedule and lifestyle. My goal is to educate, motivate, and prepare you to accomplish your goals. We will accomplish this together by focusing on quality rather than quantity, developing passion rather than expectation, and building knowledge rather than ignorance.
